Health is an integral part and parameter for development of a society and country. Unfortunately; health situation, infrastructure and basic health facilities are very poor in Nigeria. Health sector in Nigeria is in dire need of focused and cohesive work, so that the benefit reaches to the poor and marginalized as well

21% households of North Nigeria have at least one person with chronic disease

• Chronic diseases like asthma, diabetes, cancer, liver cirrhosis, HIV, tuberculosis etc found in 23% of the patients surveyed

• Health situation in IDP camps is very critical, diarrhea and malnutrition are the biggest killers

• In Maiduguri’s biggest IDP camp at Bama, MSF team found that 19% children are suffering from severe acute malnutrition

• In IDP families 40% women are pregnant or lactating
